Stainless Steel: Jewelry made of 316L stainless steel and plated with 14||18K gold, you can find the exact amount of carats in the description of each product. Jewelry made of this material is Waterproof, Nickel Free, Hypoallergenic and will not blacken.

925 Silver: Silver jewelry (all those with a blue label and the words Silver 925) is made entirely of 925 rhodium-plated silver (a more expensive metal than gold and platinum) or 925 18K gold-plated silver. Rhodium is a precious metal and totally hypoallergenic, and therefore rhodium plating, is an added value that beautifies the jewelry as well as preventing the natural oxidation of silver. For this reason, they can be considered hypoallergenic jewelry. They are jewelry that can be immersed in water (be careful though, in thermal water silver oxidizes).

Silver is a material that can be subject to oxidation under certain circumstances.

Some of these are:

-immersion in thermal water, which, mind you, is not synonymous with “hot water,” but means water containing sulfur.

-the prolonged “neglect of the jewelry” (after months of disuse, if not properly stored, the jewelry will tend to oxidizeWe recommend storing silver in airtight plastic bags).

-Contact with a very acidic type of skin. In fact, it can happen that, on some people, the jewelry will oxidize upon simple prolonged contact with the skin.

Oxidation of a silver product is manifested by its turning dark/greenish.

However, this is totally reversible: there are a variety of products on the market that serve precisely to remove the oxidized layer from the surface of the jewelry. You can find them in many outlets, often even in simple supermarkets.

The phrase “gold plated” means that the jewelry is internally made of 925 stainless steel/silver and is then “dipped” in a gold bath so that its surface is covered with it. This implies that, if stored in the wrong way, the jewelry may lose its plating over time.

Depending on the PH of the skin also, the time variant may lengthen or shorten significantly.
